Third-year philology students held the final class of the first content module of the course “English Practice,” which focused not only on the sociocultural and political features of the USA and the UK but also on Ukraine’s place in the English-speaking world. The class covered essential topics such as cultural diplomacy, the impact of globalization on national identity, and intercultural communication. Students delivered reports, gave insightful presentations on one of the proposed topics, exchanged ideas, and discussed controversial issues. The interactive format of the class enabled every participant to actively engage in the discussion. It is worth noting the students’ ability to present clear arguments and defend their positions in English. Participation in such discussions contributes not only to the development of language competence but also to critical thinking, analysis of modern challenges, and understanding of global processes in the context of Ukrainian and world politics.
