When Words Come Alive: A Translation Contest for School Students

On May 6, 2026, the participants of the translation contest were congratulated at a special event that brought together talented school students who are passionate about English, literature, and the art of words.

A total of 21 translation works were submitted to the contest, and each of them showed creativity, careful attention to language, and a strong desire to grow in the field of translation.

The participants had the opportunity to try themselves in literary translation by working with two texts by David Whyte, a poet whose work is known for its deep ideas, emotional power, and special attention to language. Such texts help young translators learn not only to translate meaning, but also to convey atmosphere, rhythm, and hidden meanings.

We are truly proud of all the participants and winners of the contest. You have shown that translation is creativity, sensitivity, and the ability to see the world more broadly.

Today, knowledge of English and translation opens up great opportunities: international projects, professional communication, meeting talented people from different countries, and the chance for a successful career. That is why it is so important to develop your skills now.

We thank all participants for their inspiration, courage, and love of words!
